An official commemorative two pound (£2) coin issued by South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands in 2006 to mark the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Struck by the Pobjoy Mint, the coin features the PM privy mark on the reverse. The obverse displays a right-facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, circumscribed with the issuer name and date. The reverse features a dual portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, accompanied by the stylized inscription 80 years and the denomination £2. The coin is struck in a silver-coloured metal with a proof-like finish, characteristically featuring frosted relief details against mirrored fields. It is housed in a circular clear plastic protective capsule.
Condition report:
Uncirculated proof condition. The coin remains in excellent state with no visible wear, contact marks, or toning. The protective plastic capsule exhibits minor surface scuffing.
