Buyer's Premium:

A complete Royal Mint proof coin set issued to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. The set consists of ten coins housed in their original maroon leatherette presentation case. The lid is gold-stamped with the crowned E II R cypher and the text Crowned 2nd June 1953. The coins include a cupro-nickel crown featuring four national shields of England, Scotland, and Ireland dated 1953. Also included are a half crown, two shillings or florin, two one shilling variations representing the English and Scottish crests, and a sixpence, all in cupro-nickel. The set is completed by a twelve-sided nickel-brass threepence and three bronze coins comprising a penny, half penny, and farthing. All coins bear the date 1953. The interior of the case is lined with red velvet and white silk.

Condition report:

The set is complete and presented in its original fitted case. The coins exhibit varying degrees of natural cabinet toning and surface oxidation. Notable iridescent rainbow toning is present on the bronze penny and half penny. The cupro-nickel coins show light golden-brown toning around the rims and in recessed areas. The presentation case is structurally sound with minor external scuffing and wear consistent with age.
