A 1986 United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection issued by the Royal Mint, comprising eight coins and a central commemorative plaque. The set features a commemorative two pound coin for the XIII Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, a one pound coin with the flax plant design for Northern Ireland, a fifty pence, twenty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, and one penny. All coins are struck to proof standard with mirror-finish fields and frosted relief devices. The collection is housed in the original blue leatherette presentation case with a black velvet-textured insert and a clear protective cover. The central square plaque is inscribed Elizabeth R. 1986. The lot includes an accompanying Royal Mint informational card.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in excellent proof condition, showing no visible signs of wear, toning, or handling marks. The strike quality is sharp with high contrast between the fields and devices. The presentation case is in good condition with only minor external signs of age.
