Buyer's Premium:

A set of eight 1970 UK proof-standard coins and a commemorative plaque issued by the Royal Mint. This collection represents the final issue of pre-decimal currency before decimalisation in 1971. The set comprises a cupro-nickel Half Crown, Two Shillings, two versions of the One Shilling (English and Scottish types), and a Sixpence; a nickel-brass dodecagonal Threepence; and bronze Penny and Halfpenny denominations. The rectangular bronze plaque is inscribed ROYAL MINT and bears the Royal Coat of Arms. Each coin is dated 1970 and features its respective reverse design including the Golden Hind on the halfpenny and Britannia on the penny. The collection is housed in a clear plastic display case within a purple presentation folder featuring gold-foil lettering.

Condition report:

Proof condition. The coins display deep mirror-like lustre and sharp strikes with no evidence of circulation wear or significant toning. The presentation folder and plastic case show minor signs of handling consistent with age.
