Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A United Kingdom silver half crown dated 1887, issued for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The obverse features the Jubilee Head portrait of the Queen facing left, with the artist’s initials J.E.B. visible on the truncation of the neck. The reverse shows a crowned Royal Shield of arms within a Garter, surrounded by a decorative wreath comprising roses, thistles, and shamrocks. A small St George and the Dragon device is positioned at the bottom centre. The coin is struck in sterling silver with a milled edge. Catalogued as KM 764.

Condition report:
Circulated. Significant wear is visible on the high points of the portrait, crown, and the heraldic lions on the reverse shield. The surfaces exhibit numerous contact marks and fine scratches consistent with circulation. Dark, uneven toning is present in the fields and recesses.
