Buyer's Premium:

A UK sterling silver crown coin dated 1889. The obverse features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria by Joseph Edgar Boehm, depicting the monarch facing left in a small crown and widow veil. The legend reads VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT with REG at the base and the designer initials J.E.B. located on the truncation of the bust. The reverse displays the Benedetto Pistrucci design of Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon, with the date 1889 in the exergue and the designer initials B.P. below the ground line on the right. The coin is struck in .925 fineness silver and features a milled edge.

Condition report:

The coin shows evidence of moderate circulation wear consistent with a grade of fine to very fine. Wear is visible on the high points of the designs, including the Queen facial features, the horse chest, and St. George leg. The surfaces exhibit an even greyish-silver tone with darker oxidation in the protected areas. Small contact marks and nicks are scattered across both faces, typical for a circulated piece of this period.
