An official Royal Mint commemorative £5 coin issued for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The coin is struck in 0.925 sterling silver and plated with fine gold to a proof finish. The reverse design, by Saiman Miah, features an impression of the London skyline including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye, encircled by pictograms representing various Olympic sports arranged like the numerals of a clock face. The design includes a colour-printed London 2012 Olympic logo and the inscription LONDON 2012. The obverse features the fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coin is housed in its original clear acrylic protective capsule and is accompanied by a black velvet-lined presentation box, a Certificate of Authenticity booklet containing technical specifications and the designer story, and a printed cardboard outer sleeve featuring the slogan Be part of it! and images of Olympic athletes.

Condition report:

The coin remains in its original acrylic capsule and appears to be in mint, unhandled condition. The internal presentation case and Certificate of Authenticity are in excellent condition. The outer cardboard sleeve shows very minor shelf wear and light scuffing at the corners and edges.
