A 1990 United Kingdom Silver Piedfort Five Pence coin issued by The Royal Mint. Struck in sterling silver, this specimen is a double-thickness piedfort proof issue. The reverse design features a crowned thistle and the legend FIVE PENCE above the numeral 5. The obverse features the third definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. This issue commemorates the introduction of the smaller-sized five pence coin into circulation. The coin is housed in its original clear plastic protective capsule and presented in a green Royal Mint case with a printed crest on the interior lid, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity.
