A lot of international banknotes and coins consisting of various paper currency issues and a diverse group of circulated coinage. Banknotes include a Malta 5 Liri note issued by Bank Centrali ta Malta; a Slovenia 20 Tolarjev note dated 15 Januar 1992 with serial number LF410541 and signatures; a Croatia 20 Kuna note from Hrvatska Narodna Banka; a Portugal 500 Escudos note from Banco de Portugal; and a folded Polish banknote.
The coinage, presented in a clear plastic container, contains numerous European and international issues including French 5 Francs dated 1971 featuring the Sower design, alongside 10 and 20 centime pieces. Also present are Swiss 20 rappen coins; Malta 25 cents dated 1968 featuring a crown and wreath; and assorted UK decimal currency including pennies and two-pence pieces. The group further contains various Euro cent coins in 10 and 20 denominations, Polish groszy, and Portuguese escudos. Metal compositions throughout the lot include cupro-nickel, copper-plated steel, and golden-toned brass alloys.
Condition report:
The items are in circulated condition. Banknotes exhibit heavy signs of handling including distinct folding, creasing, and edge wear. The Malta 5 Liri note shows a prominent central vertical fold. Coins display typical wear, surface contact marks, and some instances of oxidation. Verdigris is visible on several of the copper-based pieces.
