A 1950 United Kingdom specimen coin set comprising nine denominations of pre-decimal coinage issued during the reign of King George VI. The set is presented in the original red textured Royal Mint case featuring a gold-embossed crown and shield crest on the lid. The collection includes five cupro-nickel and silver denominations: a Half Crown, a Florin or Two Shillings, a Shilling, a Sixpence, and a silver Threepence. The base row contains four additional coins: a twelve-sided brass Threepence, a bronze Penny, a bronze Halfpenny, and a bronze Farthing. The coins display their respective reverse designs, including the royal arms, floral emblems, and the Golden Hind.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated condition with natural toning present on the silver and bronze issues. The presentation case shows moderate wear to the exterior edges and light foxing to the cream-coloured interior lid lining.
