Buyer's Premium:

A 925 silver safe driving medal issued by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The award features a central circular medallion with gilt and red enamel detailing, mounted onto an eight-pointed 925 silver star. The medallion’s outer gilt border is inscribed 10 YEARS SAFE DRIVING, with an inner band reading THE ROYAL SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF ACCIDENTS. The centre contains a red enamel triangle set within a textured gold-tone circle, positioned above a laurel wreath and a banner inscribed OF ACCIDENTS. The medal is suspended from a green textile ribbon with a red zig-zag pattern, which is attached to a rectangular 925 silver top bar stamped with the year 1940.

Condition report:

The 925 silver star and associated metal components exhibit significant surface tarnish and oxidation, particularly prominent on the points of the star. The red enamel and gilt accents remain largely intact. The textile ribbon shows minor fraying and discolouration consistent with age.
