This lot comprises two vintage silver-plated cigarette cases of rectangular form with rounded corners, each featuring engine-turned decoration. The first case is finished with a geometric pattern of vertical lines and textured panels, featuring a vacant rectangular cartouche to the upper left corner. The polished interior is fitted with a hinged metal tension bar and bears the stamped maker mark KINCRAFT above a stylized letter K within a shield and MADE IN ENGLAND. The second case displays a similar linear engine-turned pattern and is fitted internally with a blue elasticated fabric retaining strap. Both cases are constructed from silver-plated base metal and do not bear solid silver hallmarks.
Condition report:
Both cases show light surface wear, superficial scratches, and minor tarnishing throughout, consistent with age and regular use. The hinges and opening mechanisms are in working order. The elastic strap in the second case shows signs of age-related wear and loss of elasticity.
