A commemorative United Kingdom 50 pence coin issued in 2011 as part of the series celebrating the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This heptagonal specimen features the Boccia reverse design by Justin Schultz and the fourth definitive obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. Struck in cupro-nickel, the coin includes inscriptions for the denomination 50 PENCE, the London 2012 Paralympic logo, and the Latin legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 2011. This design is one of twenty-nine commemorative 50p coins released for the event. The coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule with a black foam insert.
