A collection of United Kingdom commemorative cupro-nickel coins, primarily consisting of crown (25 pence) denominations alongside a single two-pound issue. The group features examples of the 1953 Coronation crown, which displays four heraldic shields around a central crown; the 1965 Winston Churchill commemorative crown; several examples of the 1977 Silver Jubilee crown depicting HM Queen Elizabeth II on horseback; a 1980 crown issued for the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother; and two 1981 Royal Wedding crowns featuring portraits of HRH The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. Additionally, the collection includes a 1986 Commonwealth Games two-pound coin featuring a thistle and floral emblems. The pieces are presented in various formats, including hard plastic cases, a black commemorative display frame, and soft plastic flips. Legible inscriptions include SILVER JUBILEE 1977, CHURCHILL, QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER AUGUST 4th 1980, and H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER 1981.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in uncirculated condition as issued. Most examples retain their original mint lustre. Minor surface marks and light natural toning are present on some examples, particularly those not in sealed holders. The protective plastic cases show light storage-related scuffing.
