A commemorative silver medal struck by the Royal Mint, London. The obverse features a relief depiction of the facade of Broadlands, the stately home of the Mountbatten family, with the inscriptions BROADLANDS positioned above and THE HOME OF LORD MOUNTBATTEN below. The piece is presented in its original green textured leatherette hinged case. The interior of the case lid is lined with cream silk printed with the Royal Mint crest and name. The medal sits within a recessed black velvet-lined base.
Condition report:
Very fine. The medal displays natural surface toning and multiple small spots of green verdigris oxidation across the obverse fields and within the relief lettering. The presentation case exhibits significant foxing and brown spotting to the interior silk lining, though the exterior and structure remain sound.
