Buyer's Premium:

A collection of British commemorative crown coins struck in cupro-nickel. The group includes a 1977 crown issued to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, housed in a clear plastic case with a blue insert inscribed H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II SILVER JUBILEE CROWN 1952 1977. Also present is a 1965 crown commemorating Sir Winston Churchill featuring his portrait to the reverse. The collection further contains several examples of the 1980 crown issued for the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. These include the standard issue featuring a central portrait surrounded by radiating bows and lions, inscribed THE QUEEN MOTHER AUGUST 4th 1980, and a commemorative variant inscribed 80 GLORIOUS YEARS featuring four portraits around the royal cypher and the denomination ONE CROWN. The obverses display the various effigies of Queen Elizabeth II by Mary Gillick and Arnold Machin.


Condition report:

The coins exhibit varying degrees of surface wear, contact marks, and natural toning consistent with age and handling. The plastic case for the Silver Jubilee crown shows light scratching and a small white adhesive label with the number 3.
