A commemorative medal issued by The London Mint Office as part of the Winston Churchill Inspiration to a Nation collection. The obverse features a high-relief portrait of Sir Winston Churchill making the V for Victory hand gesture and holding a cigar. Inscriptions include SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL and WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER with the dates 1874-1965 at the base. The designer initials DC for David Cornell are present in the lower left field. The piece exhibits a proof-like finish with mirrored fields and frosted relief. It is housed in a clear plastic protective capsule and is accompanied by its original black and white presentation folder titled WINSTON CHURCHILL INSPIRATION TO A NATION.
Condition report:
The medal is in uncirculated condition, retaining a sharp strike and clean proof-like surfaces. The protective capsule and presentation folder show only minimal signs of handling.
