A Dutch Zaanse style weight-driven wall clock featuring a wooden case with a shaped backboard and glass-sided hood. The summit is decorated with cast brass figures including Atlas supporting a blue and gold celestial globe, flanked by figures depicting Faith, Hope, or Charity. A decorative brass fret below the figures bears the traditional Dutch motto NU ELCK SYN SIN. The dial consists of a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for five-minute intervals, set against a black velvet ground with cast brass cherub spandrels at the corners. The base of the dial is marked made in holland. The mechanical movement is stamped to the rear plate with the maker Franz Hermle, the year code 82, NO (0) JEWELS, UNADJUSTED, MADE IN WEST GERMANY, and model reference 261-080A. The clock is accompanied by two pear-shaped brass weights and a pendulum featuring a bob in the form of a horse and rider.
