A UK silver proof two-pound (£2) coin struck by the Royal Mint in 1994. The issue commemorates the tercentenary of the Bank of England. The coin is composed of .925 sterling silver. The reverse features the Bank of England corporate seal design and the crowned monogram of William and Mary. The obverse features the Raphael Maklouf portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is housed in a clear plastic capsule and presented in a Royal Mint green case with a satin and velvet interior, accompanied by the original information card.
Issued to mark the three-hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Bank of England in 1694.
Condition report:
The coin is in proof condition with mirrored fields and frosted relief. The presentation case shows some wear, including discolouration and fraying to the internal satin hinge fabric.
