A collection of eight miniature porcelain decorative items produced in Limoges, France. The assortment features transfer-printed vignettes in the Fragonard style, depicting romantic courting couples in eighteenth-century dress. The pieces are decorated with elaborate gilded scrolling, foliate, and floral borders against claret, cobalt blue, sky blue, and white grounds. The set includes one miniature teapot with a fitted lid, two circular lidded trinket boxes, one miniature pedestal bowl, and four small plates or saucers of varying designs. Visible backstamps include the words LIMOGES – FRANCE in an arc above a central hatched monogram V and the code D. 42. A secondary LIMOGES FRANCE mark is present on the same base. Several items feature the printed Fragonard signature within the transfer-printed scene.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition, with minor surface wear and light rubbing to the gilded decoration, particularly on the rims and handles, consistent with age and handling. No significant chips, cracks, or signs of repair are visible from the provided images.
