A fifteen-piece porcelain coffee service produced by the Johann Seltmann factory in Vohenstrauß, Bavaria. The set is decorated with a vibrant all-over gold lustre glaze to the exterior surfaces and saucers, complemented by clean white porcelain interiors. The service features mid-century modern design elements including high-waisted, tapered bodies and stylised angular handles. The set comprises a lidded coffee pot, a lidded sugar bowl, a milk jug, six coffee cups, and six saucers. The underside of the pieces bears a printed backstamp featuring a crown symbol above the word BAVARIA in block capitals, followed by cursive script for Johann Seltmann and Vohenstrauß. The mark also includes the word Foreign and the numeral 22.
Condition report:
The set is in generally good condition with some signs of light use. There is minor surface scratching and rubbing to the gold lustre finish consistent with age. One saucer exhibits a fine hairline crack visible on the underside. No other chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are evident from the provided images.
