A Walt Disney Classics Beauty and the Beast Collector’s Deluxe Video Edition box set, released for the UK market in 1993. The set is housed in a large-format, purple textured presentation box featuring embossed gold-tone foil lettering and a central character vignette. The internal contents comprise a VHS cassette of the feature film in a purple slipcase bearing the British Board of Film Classification Universal rating, and a second VHS cassette titled The Making of Beauty and the Beast in a white slipcase, which remains in its original publisher’s factory shrink-wrap. The collection also includes a softbound companion booklet titled The Making of a Walt Disney Classic: Beauty and the Beast, containing production information and concept sketches, alongside an Exclusive Commemorative Lithograph 1993, housed within its original branded white card envelope.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. The outer presentation box shows minor shelf wear, including slight scuffing and compression to the corners and edges. There is a small area of surface paper loss on the interior left-hand flap. The lithograph envelope shows minor handling creases and light age-related foxing to the edges. The tapes and booklet appear well-preserved, with the secondary tape remaining factory-sealed.
