A large, hand-carved wooden sculpture depicting a seated cat in a stylized folk art manner. The figure is crafted from a solid piece of hardwood, displaying a natural polished grain. The cat is rendered with a whimsical expression, featuring oversized circular eyes, incised whiskers, and a smiling mouth. Contrast is provided by dark stain applied to the ears, nose, paws, and tail. The piece is characteristic of late 20th-century Southeast Asian artisanal craft. There are no visible maker’s marks or labels.
