A contemporary coffee table featuring a kinetic design, often referred to as the Chicago or Kalliope style. The piece is constructed with a circular mirrored chrome-plated base from which two arched chrome supports rise at different heights. Each support holds a circular clear glass top with bevelled edges. The table incorporates a swivelling mechanism that allows the smaller, lower glass tier to rotate outwards from beneath the larger upper tier, expanding the usable surface area. This orbital style of furniture provides a minimalist aesthetic and functional versatility. No maker’s marks are visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The table is in good used condition. The chrome-plated surfaces retain a high-lustre finish with no significant pitting or corrosion observed. The glass tops appear intact and free from large chips or cracks, though light surface scratches consistent with age and domestic use may be present.
