The reverse design features a leek plant with roots passing through a royal coronet, designed by Leslie Durbin. The coin is struck as a piedfort, meaning it is of double the standard thickness. It is composed of .925 sterling silver. The coin is housed in its original clear protective plastic capsule and presented in a red Royal Mint case. The interior of the lid is lined with white satin and printed with the Royal Mint crest, while the base is finished in black velvet-flocked material.
