A vintage costume jewellery tiara of arched, scrolled form, dating to the mid-20th century. The piece is constructed from a silver-tone base metal and features a triple row of channel-set round-cut clear rhinestones along the base. Rising from the base is an openwork design of C-scroll motifs, each pavé-set with round-cut rhinestones of varying sizes. These scrolls are interspersed with horizontally oriented, step-cut baguette rhinestones in claw settings. The tiara is designed as a rigid headband, terminating in small circular loops at each end for securing with hairpins or ribbons. Stamped to the interior left-hand end of the band are two incised characters reading LT.
Condition report:
The tiara is in good vintage condition with all rhinestones present and secure in their settings. There is visible dulling or greying to the foil backing of several stones, consistent with the age of paste jewellery. The silver-tone metal shows light surface scratches and minor areas of oxidation, particularly on the interior of the headband. Structural loops remain intact.
