The body is finished in a black lacquer or celluloid coating, complemented by a chrome-plated metal grille with a mesh backing. The treble keys and bass buttons are constructed from plastic. The bellows are made from reinforced paper and fabric, featuring metal corner protectors. A strip of green and gold adhesive tape has been applied to the front and back of the casing, which likely obscures the original maker’s branding or model information. The accordion is accompanied by a brown hard-shell carrying case with a worn, plush-lined interior. The shoulder straps are made of leather. This model is characteristic of student instruments common in the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The instrument is in poor to fair vintage condition and shows significant signs of age and use. The chrome-plated grille exhibits heavy pitting, corrosion, and tarnishing. The casing has various scuffs, scratches, and adhesive tape residue. The leather shoulder straps are perished, brittle, and broken in several places. The keys and buttons show yellowing and accumulated dirt consistent with age. The instrument has not been tested for air-tightness, reed condition, or tuning. The carrying case shows significant exterior and interior wear, including scuffing and degradation of the lining.
