A collection of vintage workshop tools and tobacco ephemera. The group features a vintage external micrometer, designed for measurements from 0 to 1 inch. The instrument consists of a steel frame with a dark textured finish and a thimble and sleeve with engraved scales graduated in 1/1000th of an inch increments. It is housed in a fitted, hinged case with a red velvet-lined interior. Also included is a small double-ended open-ended steel wrench. The collection contains two folding tools: a larger single-blade folding knife with a flat brushed metal handle, and a smaller two-part multi-tool with cream-coloured scales, possibly celluloid, featuring a small pen blade and a combination bottle opener and flat-head screwdriver. Completing the lot is a rectangular metal tobacco tin for Golden Virginia Hand Rolling Tobacco. The lid is printed with green, yellow, and black graphics, including the central text GOLDEN VIRGINIA within a leaf border and HAND ROLLING TOBACCO in a lower banner.
Condition report:
All items show signs of age and significant use. The micrometer displays wear to the frame\'s finish and surface marks on the steel components; the mechanical function remains untested. The small wrench shows heavy surface oxidation. The larger folding knife has scratches and wear to the handle, while the smaller pocket tool shows yellowing to the scales and light corrosion on the blades. The tobacco tin is in distressed condition with extensive paint loss, scratches, and surface rust. The micrometer case shows external scuffing and wear to the interior lining.
