A collection of numismatic items comprising two Royal Mint Britain’s First Decimal Coins sets and three cased commemorative crown-sized coins. The decimal sets include denominations issued during the transition to decimalisation, featuring the half penny, one penny, and two pence in bronze, and the five pence, ten pence, and fifty pence in cupro-nickel. These sets are housed in the original blue PVC presentation folders with descriptive card inserts detailing the heraldry and denominations. The commemorative group includes a St. Helena Silver Jubilee coin dated 1977, a Gibraltar Silver Wedding Anniversary coin dated 1947-1972, and a Falkland Islands Silver Jubilee Crown dated 1952-1977. Each commemorative coin is presented in a clear plastic protective case. The obverses primarily feature the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with reverses displaying various heraldic and symbolic motifs related to the respective territories and anniversaries.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in uncirculated condition with original lustre. Some coins in the decimal sets exhibit minor surface toning consistent with storage in PVC folders. The blue plastic folders show some age-related discolouration, minor creasing, and shelf wear. The individual clear plastic cases for the commemorative crowns show light surface scuffing and minor scratches.
