A commemorative medal from the series titled The Official Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary Commemoratives, struck in solid bronze and layered in pure silver. The reverse features a portrait of Lord Beaverbrook accompanied by blueprints of a Spitfire aircraft, with inscriptions including LORD BEAVERBROOK, 1940, 2015, and SAUCEPANS FOR SPITFIRES. The obverse, as detailed on the accompanying certificate, depicts the Royal Air Force crest centred over a frosted 75 background with the Latin legend PER ARDUA AD ASTRA and the inscriptions BATTLE OF BRITAIN 75TH ANNIVERSARY and the dates 1940 and 2015. The piece is struck to a proof finish with mirrored fields and is housed in a protective acrylic capsule. It is accompanied by the original Certificate of Commemorative Specifications.
