A vintage clear pressed glass beer tankard or mug manufactured by the Federal Glass Company of Columbus, Ohio. The vessel features a large D-shaped handle and a base decorated with vertical fluted or thumbprint-style panels. The exterior is embellished with a polychrome transfer-printed graphic of a ring-necked pheasant in flight amongst stylized white and gold-toned foliage. The upper rim is finished with a gold-coloured gilt band. The underside of the base is embossed with the maker’s mark consisting of a letter F within a shield-shaped border, and the text MADE IN USA along the inner rim.
Condition report:
The tankard is in good vintage condition. There is visible rubbing and thinning to the gold-coloured gilt on the rim consistent with age and use. The polychrome pheasant transfer remains vibrant and intact with minimal wear. No chips, cracks, or significant surface scratches are observed.
