A pair of heavy-cut lead crystal rose bowls, also known as posy bowls, featuring distinct hand-cut decorative patterns. One bowl is decorated with a deep diamond-cut design. The second bowl features a pattern incorporating star and fan motifs with mitre cuts. Both vessels are finished with star-cut bases and exhibit visible light refraction. Each bowl is equipped with a removable square-mesh wire flower frog made of silver-toned metal, designed to support floral arrangements. The form and cutting styles are characteristic of mid-20th-century British glass manufacture. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
The crystal bowls are in good condition, appearing clear with no significant chips or clouding. The removable metal grids show minor signs of age-related wear, including small spots of oxidation and surface discolouration consistent with use.
