A student-model tenor trombone manufactured by Swanee in Taiwan. The instrument is constructed from yellow brass with a clear lacquer finish and features nickel-plated or chrome-plated inner slide sections. It is comprised of two primary components: a bell section with a standard flare and a slide section equipped with a single water key. This model does not include an F-attachment. The bell flare is engraved with a large stylized S above the brand name SWANEE, which is rendered in a stippled font. Below the name is the inscription MADE IN TAIWAN, along with additional characters that appear to read 77. The instrument is accompanied by its original fitted hard-shell case, which features a gold-coloured plush lining and external metal hardware.
Condition report:
The instrument is in fair to poor aesthetic condition with evidence of significant use. There is extensive wear to the lacquer, widespread pitting, and areas where the raw brass has become exposed and oxidised. A prominent dent is located on the bell flare, and several smaller dings are visible across the tubing. The inner slide stockings show surface wear and oxidation; the mechanical action of the slide has not been professionally tested and its functionality is unknown. The case shows heavy external scuffing and wear to the edges and latches.
