Thai commemorative medal, known as the Sattaphansamala Medal, struck in the Ratanakosin Era year 101 (1882 AD) to mark the centenary of the Chakri Dynasty and the founding of Bangkok. The medal is produced in a bronze alloy and features a broad, rayed, and scalloped border. The obverse displays the four conjoined royal busts design. The reverse displays a central field of Thai inscriptions surmounted by a trident symbol. This medal was issued during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Catalog reference B-123.
Condition report:
Very Fine (VF) condition with heavy dark-brown toning and surface oxidation throughout. Significant wear is visible on the high points of the relief portraits and inscriptions. Multiple surface scratches, abrasions, and small edge nicks are present, consistent with age and handling.
