The assembly includes various denominations struck in cupro-nickel and bronze, each featuring the second decimal effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse. The obverse legend reads ELIZABETH II D.G.REG.F.D. 1980. The coins exhibit characteristic proof qualities, including frosted cameo-like relief against highly reflective, mirror-like fields.
