This group comprises a full-size British Korea Medal, a full-size United Nations Service Medal for Korea, a miniature medal pair, and a Parachute Regiment cap badge. The British Korea Medal is struck in silver and features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REGINA F: D: on the obverse, indicating an early issue struck before 1953. The United Nations Service Medal is constructed of bronze-alloy and displays the UN emblem within a wreath, fitted with a silver-toned clasp inscribed KOREA. A mounted miniature set of both medals is also present. The accompanying Parachute Regiment cap badge is made from white metal, depicting a deployed parachute flanked by two outspread wings, surmounted by a St Edward’s crown. The collection is presented in a modern black velvet-lined display box. Service medals of this period are typically impressed or engraved on the rim with the recipient’s details; however, these markings are not visible in the provided photographs.
Condition report:
The medals and insignia are in good commemorative condition. The British Korea Medal retains a bright finish with light surface marks and minor edge contact consistent with wear. The United Nations medal exhibits a dark, aged bronze patina. The ribbons for all medals are intact but show minor fraying and signs of previous mounting. The Parachute Regiment badge is well-defined with a clean finish. The presentation box is in good condition.
