A collection of commemorative philatelic material and memorabilia dedicated to Diana, Princess of Wales (1961-1997). The assembly comprises multiple First Day Covers (FDCs) from both the UK Royal Mail and the Isle of Man Post Office. Included are the 1997 UK Memorial issue (SG 2009-2013) featuring circular date stamps from Cardiff and London SW dated 6 September 1997. The collection also features the 1998 series titled My life is going to be a great challenge, depicting scenes from international tours in India (1992) and Nepal (1993), postmarked in London W8 on 3 February 1998. Later commemorative covers from 1 July 2007 with Kensington, London cancellations are also present. The majority of the philatelic items are part of the Mercury LUXURY FIRST DAY COVER SERIES. The lot is supplemented by several large-format colour photographic portraits and a red-bound commemorative booklet. Denominations include 1st class, 26p, and Isle of Man 25p issues including the Princess of Wales Rose design. Items are presented within protective plastic display sleeves.
Condition report:
All philatelic items are in unused, unaddressed condition. Postmarks are crisp and well-inked circular date stamps. No visible evidence of foxing, toning, or adhesive staining to the covers. Stamps appear well-centred with intact perforations. Supplementary photographs and the booklet are in excellent condition with no visible wear or damage.
