The obverse features the fifth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, with the Latin inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REG FID DEF 2017. The reverse, designed by Dominique Evans, depicts a Regency-style silhouette portrait of Jane Austen within a circular locket frame, set against a striped field. The reverse bears the inscriptions JANE AUSTEN 1817 – 2017, the denomination TWO POUNDS, and a facsimile signature of the author. The coin is housed in a Change Checker protective card holder featuring a United Kingdom Certified Brilliant Uncirculated hologram sticker.
