A United Kingdom bi-metallic two pound coin issued in 2002 to commemorate the XVII Commonwealth Games in Manchester. This specific issue features the flag of Northern Ireland, which represents the lowest mintage variety of the four-coin series. The coin is constructed with a cupro-nickel inner disc and a nickel-brass outer ring. The obverse carries the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the initials IRB visible below the neck. The reverse, designed by Matthew Bonaccorsi, features a stylized figure alongside a circular emblem containing the flag of Northern Ireland (the Ulster Banner).
