A group of United Kingdom cupro-nickel commemorative 50 pence coins focusing on international sporting events. The lot features specimens housed in blue collector cards and individual plastic capsules. The carded coins include a 2020 Team GB Olympic Games commemorative coin, a 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games coin, and a 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games coin. These are presented in United Kingdom 50p packaging, with some examples bearing Change Checker branding and holographic Certified Brilliant Uncirculated stickers. Also included are two coins from the 2011 London 2012 Olympic series depicting the sports of archery and the modern pentathlon, both held in clear plastic capsules. Each coin features the standard heptagonal flan and denominations on the reverse or obverse.
Condition report:
The three carded coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition with strong original mint lustre. The two encapsulated 2011 Olympic coins show visible signs of circulation, including numerous surface contact marks, scratches, and a dulling of the original finish. The collector cards show minor edge wear and light surface scuffing.
