A United Kingdom five-pound (£5) commemorative crown issued in 2009 to mark the 500th anniversary of the accession of King Henry VIII. The obverse features the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the artist’s initials IRB located below the truncation. The reverse features a standing portrait of Henry VIII after the work of Hans Holbein the Younger, designed by John Bergdahl, whose initials JB appear in the lower right field. The reverse includes the monogram HR for Henricus Rex and the commemorative inscription THE ACCESSION OF HENRY VIII 1509 · FIVE POUNDS ·. Condition report:
The coin exhibits significant surface wear and environmental degradation. Both the obverse and reverse fields show heavy dark toning, tarnish, and prominent spotting. There are numerous contact marks, hairlines, and visible scratches across all surfaces. The rim remains intact but shows signs of handling. Condition: Fine.
