The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and the reverse features the Christopher Le Brun Kew Gardens design. This specimen is an original 2009 strike (KM# 1118), distinguished from later reissues by the obverse portrait and date placement. With a circulation mintage of approximately 210,000, this design is the scarcest 50p coin in UK decimal history.
