A mid-20th-century oak three-drawer chest of drawers, featuring a low, shaped gallery upstand to the top. The unit is configured with three full-width drawers, each exhibiting highly figured quartersawn tiger oak veneers to the fronts, accented by a light-coloured wood border. The drawers are fitted with six decorative patinated base-metal drop handles featuring stylised floral and scrollwork backplates. The chest is supported by a simple plinth base. Construction is mass-produced, featuring secondary utility wood sides and plywood drawer bases; traditional dovetail joinery is not visible to the drawer fronts.
Condition report:
The item is in good used condition with signs of wear consistent with age. There are minor surface scratches and abrasions to the finish, most notably around the edges and top surface. The drawer interiors exhibit some staining and discolouration.
