Issued by the Royal Mint, this 1986 UK commemorative two pound coin celebrates the XIII Commonwealth Games held in Edinburgh. The coin is struck in gold-coloured nickel-brass and is housed in its original colour-illustrated card presentation folder. The reverse design by Norman Sillman features a Scottish thistle encircled by a laurel wreath, superimposed upon a saltire or St. Andrew’s Cross, with the date 1986 at the top. The obverse features the third definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The presentation pack includes printed technical specifications and design information alongside an illustration of track athletes.
