This lot comprises an assortment of ceramics, primarily tea wares, presented within a vintage hard-shell suitcase. The ceramic items include a plate decorated in a traditional Imari palette featuring cobalt blue, iron red, and gilded accents in a foliate and floral design. A partial tea service is also present, consisting of plates, saucers, and a cream jug featuring a broad rust-coloured border with stylised foliage and central polychrome floral sprays. The collection also includes a conical ceramic spill vase or vessel with matching floral decoration. One white-glazed underside is marked with the handwritten pattern number 2967 in red. No manufacturer marks are clearly visible, though the style is characteristic of 19th-century English porcelain and earthenware producers such as Derby or Mason’s. The ceramics are contained in a mid-20th-century vintage suitcase with a dark exterior, metal latches, and a purple and tan geometric patterned fabric lining.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition. There is visible rubbing to the gilded highlights and some surface dirt across the collection. Individual pieces may exhibit minor chips or fine crazing consistent with age and storage. The suitcase shows external scuffing and oxidation to the metal components.
