This lot comprises an assortment of British pre-decimal copper and bronze coins, predominantly consisting of pennies and halfpennies. The coins are housed in a rectangular green metal storage tin decorated with a red and black tartan pattern and a graphic of shortbread biscuits, associated with the Walker’s brand. The coins display portraits of various British monarchs including Elizabeth II, George VI, and George V. Specific inscriptions visible include Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina F.D., Georgivs VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP., and Georgivs V Dei Gra: Britt: Omn: Rex Fid: Def: Ind: Imp. The reverse designs feature the seated figure of Britannia with the denomination One Penny. Dates observed within the collection include 1945 and 1961.
