A pair of novelty glazed ceramic teapots manufactured by James Sadler and Sons Ltd of Staffordshire, England, as part of the Edwardian Entertainments collection. One teapot is decorated with a circus theme, featuring transfer-printed motifs of a ringmaster, clown, and elephant, and is fitted with a red and yellow striped conical lid. The second teapot features a carousel theme with transfer-printed carousel horses and riders, and is fitted with a red and green striped conical lid. Both teapots include gilded ball finials and ornate gilded scrollwork to the rims, spouts, handles, and base sections. The manufacturer mark, consisting of a crown above the name Sadler, is visible on the accompanying original cardboard packaging.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. Gilding is well-preserved. Original manufacturer boxes are present and show minor shelf wear and light creasing to the edges.
