This group of cinema memorabilia commemorates the career of John Wayne. It includes three limited edition decorative porcelain plates produced by The Franklin Mint, each featuring artwork by Robert Tanenbaum and finished with a gold-gilded rim. The first plate, from The Franklin Mint Heirloom Collection, is titled Hondo Lane, Cavalry Scout and is hand-numbered 4617. The second plate is titled The Duke, marked as a Franklin Mint Heirloom Recommendation, and is hand-numbered 2874. The third plate is titled Pine Ridge, also a Franklin Mint Heirloom Recommendation, and is hand-numbered 4531. The lot also contains a rectangular wall clock featuring a composite of John Wayne photographs, including a primary portrait and two smaller inset images of Wayne on horseback and in a character study. The clock is housed in a wooden-effect frame with gold-toned hour, minute, and second hands, and it is presented in its original white cardboard protective packaging.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition. The decorative porcelain plates are free from observable chips, cracks, or significant wear to the transfer patterns and gilded rims. The wall clock is held within its original cardboard protector, which exhibits some light creasing and general wear from storage. The clock mechanism has not been tested for functionality.
