A pair of large garden planters manufactured from glazed earthenware. The pots are of bulbous beehive form, featuring rolled rims with horizontal ribbing. Both vessels are finished in a monochromatic deep cobalt blue glaze. One planter retains an oval silver-toned label to the exterior, although the inscription is not clearly legible. This style is common for late 20th-century garden wares found within the United Kingdom.
Condition report:
Both planters exhibit extensive fine crazing to the glaze throughout. There are minor chips and surface abrasions, particularly around the inner and outer edges of the rims and at the bases, consistent with age and outdoor use. Light surface scuffing and some mineral deposits are present to the exterior of both pieces.
