A United Kingdom silver proof two-pound coin, issued in 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Nations. The reverse design by John Mills features a stylized fan of flags and the United Nations emblem, with the dates 1945-1995 and the legend FOR PEACE AND THE NATIONS UNITED. The obverse features the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. The coin is struck in .925 sterling silver. It is presented in its original light blue velvet-lined display case and includes a matching certificate of authenticity.
Condition report:
The coin is in proof condition, exhibiting high-luster mirrored fields and frosted design elements. It is held within a protective plastic capsule. The presentation case and paperwork appear to be in excellent condition.
